Our goals are:

  • Making all Government generated public documentation available on the web to citizens. This includes but not limited to legislation, rules & regulations, budgetary information, and websites.  If it is legally public it needs to be on the web.

  • Making all public government documentation citable by an average citizen on the web including websites.

  • Needs to be readable by people and machines.  A URL an educated person can deconstruct.

  • Allowing citizens to cite public government docs on a paragraph level and to allow those links to degrade in granularity. This way citizens may document on an issues basis.

  • Allowing citizens to cite public govt docs without their links breaking over time.

  • Making Government Accountable for all public documentation as it evolves and changes.

The Current open Format we are suggesting is what we call "Advanced permalinks inspired by the Microformats process"
